Have Questions?

Tournament FAQs

We’ve answered some of the most common questions players have before competing in Paddle Tap tournaments. If you’re new to tournament play or just want to know what to expect, you’ll find helpful details below.

Do I need both a UTR and VAIR account to register?

Yes. All players must have both a UTR profile and a VAIR profile in order to register for Paddle Tap tournaments. Both accounts are free, take just a few minutes to create, and help ensure fair divisions and honest competition.

If you don’t already have accounts, you can get started here:

Create or view your UTR account: https://app.utrsports.net

Create or view your VAIR account: https://www.vairified.com/?ambassador=7131745

Once both accounts are set up, you’ll be ready to register and compete.

How do I know which division to enter?

We get this question mostly from new players.

If you are not rated, we recommend asking the players or coaches in your area what they think your level is. DO NOT sign up for the lowest level division because this is your 1st tournament. Please register at your apporopriate level to ensure that all players are enjoying the skill level.

If you are signing up with two different rating levels the team is required to sign up in the division of the player with the highest level. For example, a 4.5 player playing with a 3.5 player is not allowed to play in 4.0 division they must play in the 4.5 division.

If you’re unsure, reviewing your ratings first is the best place to start.

How long should I expect to be at the tournament?

Most players should plan to be on site for approximately 2-4 hours, depending on division size and match progression. Paddle Tap events are designed to run efficiently with minimal unnecessary waiting.

Where do I check in on tournament day?

Do I need a partner to register?

What should I bring with me?

What happens if there is bad weather?
